Dental emergency? Call us now. We see emergencies the same day by appointment, and emergency hours are available outside our regular Monday to Thursday office hours.
Go to the ER or call 911 first if
You have swelling in your face, mouth or neck that is spreading, or trouble breathing or swallowing.
You have a fever with a toothache or swelling.
Bleeding will not stop after 10 minutes of firm pressure.
You had a serious blow to the head or jaw, or a possible broken jaw.
Then call us once you are safe.
Knocked out tooth: time matters
Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse gently with water and do not scrub. Try to place it back in the socket, or keep it in milk. Call us at once. A tooth has the best chance when it is seen within about an hour.
What to do right now
Chipped or broken tooth
Rinse with warm water. Save any pieces. Use a cold compress on your cheek. Cover sharp edges with sugar-free gum or dental wax. Call us.
Severe toothache
Rinse with warm water, floss gently to clear trapped food, and use a cold compress. A standard over-the-counter pain reliever can help. Do not put aspirin on the gum. Call us the same day.
Lost crown, veneer, filling or onlay
Keep it safe and call us. A dab of dental cement from a pharmacy can hold it briefly. Do not use household glue.
Broken or lost Invisalign aligner
Call us. Usually you can move to your next set or wear the previous one until a replacement is ready. Do not stop wearing aligners without asking.
Abscess or gum bump
This is serious and can spread. Rinse with warm salt water and call us immediately.
Cut lip, cheek or tongue
Clean with water and apply gentle pressure. If bleeding continues or the cut is deep, go to the ER.
We will take care of you
Dental emergencies are stressful. We keep you comfortable, explain each step and stop whenever you need. The fee depends on the treatment you need, and we explain it before we treat.
